All events will be fenced using electrical equipment. Under 10 aged Boys & Girls will fence using size 0 weapons, Under 14 aged boys & girls will fence using size 3 weapons, while those over 14 can use full sized weapons. The wearing of lame bib coverings on foil masks will not be used in all the age groups. All clothing will be checked before pool rounds and fencers will NOT be allowed to fence should clothing not meet standards.
Parents or Guardians must be aware that fencers must be Individual Members of the British Fencing Association under the COMPETE category so as to have insurance cover in the very rare case that they should be responsible for an accident to another fencer. Membership will be checked on entry. Photography – anyone wishing to take photographs must give their name to the organisers at check-in.
1 pool round boys & girls mixed – 5 hits over 3 mins and then split for DE. If there are more than 5 girls per age group then they will have their own pool round as well.
NOTE: Due to the size of the venue the organiser reserves the right to limit entry numbers with priority given to earliest entries received first. All fencers are advised to enter as soon as possible to avoid possible disappointment.
There will be no late entries permitted to fence in this event.
No food allowed inside the sports hall. Food will need to be consumed in the foyer or outside the building.
Age groups that fencers will be placed in are taken from their age as at 01 January 2017
Under 10 born in 2007/2008 or after. Under 12 born in 2005/2006. Under 14 born in 2003/2004.
Under 16 born in 2001/2002 Under 20 born 2000/99/98 Sabre & Epee entrants in U12 U14 or U20 groups.
Latest time for you to report in the Sports Hall to Paul Mowbray if you have entered and wish to fence:-
Under 10, 12 & 14 Foil is 9.30am. Under 16 & 20 Foil is 1pm. Sabre & Epee all ages – 4pm
Entry Fees must be received before 28 Feb 2016. £20.00 for first weapon. £5 for any additional ones
Cheques All cheques to be made payable to Swindon Fencing Club.
Cash will be accepted on day of competition, but only if entry form has arrived before 28 Feb 2016
